Default 93 Marathon (GXT804) Shock Issue

Hi all . . . .

I am in a bit of a pickle. I work NASCAR races and have to have my cart back together this weekend to take to the track on Monday.

I have a 93 GXT804. Basically a Marathon with a truck bed. I am having a difficult time determining which shock I should use for replacement in the front.

It is a stock height cart, but clearance when the wheels are turned is tight. If turning on a bump, the tires will hit the fender. Tires are 18 inches. According to what I am reading, the shock travel should be 14 to 17 inches. The shocks that are on it, measure 12.5 to 14.5. When assembled and the cart is at rest, and the shocks are fully extended. Also, the suspension is completely stock, and I was not able to re-install the existing shocks without compressing the suspension with a ratchet. I feel like they were replaced in a previous life with a shock that may be too short.

BUT . . .

The distance between the shock mounts with the shocks removed is 12.75 inches so it doesn't seem like the recommended stock shock would fit.

I have crossed referenced the numbers on the shock that is installed and not one hit comes up on the Googles. :-(

Any suggestions from the community?

I used Monroe shocks that were 18.00 each....if you give me a little bit to go through my emails I will find the order and part number.
