G1 shock spacer for worn shock spring
Hey everyone,
I want to add a 1/2" spacer to my worn front shock springs. Can anyone tell me what to use and how to install them? And also, why can I not use G1 gas front shocks on my lifted G1 electric. Everyone has G1 gas front shocks for sale, but not many carry the G1 electric front shocks. What`s the difference??? Thanks, Dave |

Re: G1 shock spacer for worn shock spring
IDK, G1e is heavier than G1a.

Re: G1 shock spacer for worn shock spring
Thanks for the reply,
Any thoughts on the spacer, to strengthen the spring? Smallblock mentioned in a post on another thread of mine that Mike Mac had done a cool thing by adding a 1/2 inch Spacer to the collar to strengthen the shock spring, but, after doing a search I can`t find anything on Mike Mac. Like what he used and how it worked. Thanks, |

Re: G1 shock spacer for worn shock spring
Thanks,
I think I am going to give it a try, while waiting on some new shocks. I will report back. I am working long hours at the moment so it might take me a few days. I read some where that someone suggested drilling a hole in a hockey puck. But this may be to thick. Any suggestions? Dave Last edited by davidh51; 10-16-2015 at 09:42 PM.. Reason: Add on |

Re: G1 shock spacer for worn shock spring
Hey all
Take a look at the pic of my shock with spacers on it. I had a front end guy add them for me. He took the shock apart and added 1/2 inch worth of washers. I got the tip to use a split collar but when I called him the next morning he had already done the washer thing. I made all the difference that ,Mike Mac said it would. lined up my front end and gave me the height I needed. Thanks Mike Dave |
