2005 DS motor dies when accelerator floored
I have a 2005 Club Car DS. When I floor the accelerator pedal, it will go fast a few seconds, then die. When I let off pedal, and resume, without flooring, half way, it is OK. But sometimes if you keep flooring it and tripping it, then it will not go fast anymore and only go slow no matter how much you try to go faster. Then I have to flip the TOW/RUN switch under the seat, and it resets. Is this a MCOR problem, or?? If so, where is cheapest place to get another? I see lots of them for up to 2004 model, but not many for 2005 and up. Can you not use one for 2004? If this isnt the problem, what could it be? I am trying to sell this cart and need to know what to tell buyer. THANK YOU!!!!

Re: 2005 DS motor dies when accelerator floored
First off, Welcome to BGW!
Does the cart stop completely when it is floored, or does it slow down? Do you hear any beeps when any of this happens? |

Sounds like controller might be going into limp mode ? The Run/tow switch reboots the control.

Re: 2005 DS motor dies when accelerator floored
It just completely stops going. I hear a click, not a beep. If you just keep it halfway down it goes on well. But if it keeps happening, then eventually even puched all the way down, it goes slow. So then I reboot it by switching the TOW/RUN switch. I do not use a key... I only use the TOW/RUN switch to turn it on and off. Reverse works fine.
Do you think it is MCOR? |

Re: 2005 DS motor dies when accelerator floored
Could be the MCOR, but it could also be 'solenoid dropout' which will cause these symptoms, even though I think it was mainly in first year IQ vehicles...

Re: 2005 DS motor dies when accelerator floored
I'm no expert but based only on what I've seen in these forums over the years I would guess:
1) Faulty Speed Sensor (search this site for numerous threads & discussions) 2) Faulty MCOR (search this site for numerous threads & discussions) 3) Something more complicated than above |
