Slow Club Car DS
Hi guys,
My name is Danny and I'm from Germany. Sorry for my bad English. I bought a Club Car DS 48Volt (AQ0629) two days ago. There are 4 12 Volt Trojan batteries installed, which are 1 year old. Now I have the following problem. On a straight track the Club Car only drives between 5-6 MPH. As soon as it gets a bit uphill, it gets a lot slower. I have already measured the batteries under load and everything seems to be in order there. I also did the speed sensor test and the beep was heard and it slows down automatically. I also checked the battery cables and they seem to be ok too. Does anyone have an idea what else it could be? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Slow Club Car DS
That is an '06 IQ (Sepex) cart. Below are the speed codes that can be programmed into the Curtis controller.
Speed Codes for IQ: Speed Setting 1 = 8 MPH Speed Setting 2 = 13.2 MPH Speed Setting 3 = 14.8 MPH Speed Setting 4 = 19.6 MPH (Private Code - Purchase required) That speed is below SC-1 so you may be in limp mode that cuts you to half speed. A failed speed sensor could cause it, a welded solenoid could cause it, just real hard to tell from here. What was the pack voltage when you checked it - should be 50.93 volts 12 hours AFTER the charge completed. If you want to make sure the MCOR is working correctly AND your throttle is reaching 100%, do the following: With the batteries connected, Tow/Run switch in Run; place the black (–) probe on packs main Negative post and the red (+) probe on the yellow wire at the 3-pin connector near the MCOR or at the Controller. (The reading should be approximately ~0.32 - .5vdc with the pedal up). Slowly press the Go Pedal and the readings should increase gradually until it reaches ~4.65 - 5vdc when the pedal is fully depressed. (Anything less than 4.60vdc and you are not reaching full throttle). |
