Default Changing tire size

Wondering how a different tire size will effect the speed/rpm.

My cart is a 2018 Precedent non-lifted.

The reason why I'm asking about rpm is that I don't want to increase it
as I did the Plum Quick Bandit upgrade and don't want to go near 6500rpm when floored.

Currently running 205/50/10 and thinking of going with 205/65/10.

So will the tires fit without rubbing and will the rpm's stay under 6500rpm?

Thanks

Alot of the retailers of wheels and tires will give you an idea if the setup will fit on your cart without a lift or rubbing right on their website.

Do you have a factory controller?

An aftermarket Alltrax control will monitor motor rpm and allow you to set a maximum limit. 6k is the default setting for most all GC motors. If you increase tire size by 10% then potentially the top speed will increase by the same 10% while the motor rpm stays the same.
Taller tires will reduce rpm for the same speed with smaller tires.
An Alltrax controller can also increase power needed to turn teh bigger tires.

Factory controller.

Actually more concerned about tires rubbing, but I do have aftermarket rims with an offset that pushes them out just past the factory flares.

also be aware the motors are typically tweaked for either speed at the cost of torque or vs versa. from my experience lifting multiple carts (and 4x4s) with bigger tires the vehicle can become a bit more sluggish and burn though more fuel/juice as theres more strain on the motor with the gearing change(in this case slightly more amp load)

Its likely minimal in your case but be aware everything is a tradeoff when it comes to lift kits and bigger tires or even just stuffing the tires on.

id say if anything the motor is going to be less likely to reach higher rpms since the load on it will be higher... this is where a bigger amp controller and wiring help but then be aware it might limit your choices down the road if you ever decide to go with a lithium battery pack... many find they have to turn their 5-600amp controllers down to 2-300amps peak.

To the best of my knowledge, most carts can run 20” tires without rubbing. A 20” tire only reduces the clearance at the body by 1” because it 2” in overall diameter, basically 1” on each side. Use a tape measure and measure.
