Question bent push rod

i have a honda 24 in my ezgo been running it a few months now and didnt feel like it had the right power (only had the cart a few months) for a 24 hp motor, anyways i pulled the motor to do a tune up and check welds on motor mounts and found that i had been running on only one cilinder( if standing on passenger side rear cylinder was working ) found a bent push rod on the intake side of the front cylinder. replaced rod started motor back up on stand runs fine no metal or anything else in the oil. do i need to worry about any internal damage also what would have caused the rod to bend and turn lifter sideways??? im hoping that it was just improper adjustment. motor is back in cart havent driven yet it revs and works running gear with no roblems but that is with no load.

Great news! Any pix's? I really liked my Honda builds, just not as much aftermarket bolt on's and custom fab for placement into Yami's.
