I took a peek at the Yamaha rear suspension design. It's a fairly simple yet effective swing arm.

Way back in the day when I raced motocross, it was the beginning of gas shocks for dirt bikes, and even more important is we could weld different top mounts and "lay down" the shocks for more travel. Just like today's front end systems we could go from 3" of travel to 6" and it made a world of difference.

I wonder if anyone ever took the Yamaha rear swing arm and attached it to an EZ-GO? Welding for the main connection and the "Pan bar?" would need done.....but would that get longer rear travel?

I don't wanna steer this post off course, but I will start a new thread if this is something that's possible.

My only gripe with the Yamaha Drive suspension is that nothing is adjustable. I can see that there is too much camber in the front tires but there is no adjustment. I can see that the rear tires are shifted over a bit relative to the body but there is no adjustment short of cutting and welding. Nothing is bent and the cart drives fine but front tire wear suffers due to the excessive camber - only needed on a race car. :-)

Is it possible on the Yam's to weld a different top mount for the shocks to have the shocks "lay-over" for a longer travel?

Of course, that may change the center of gravity of the cart if it get's lifted higher. I dunno how that would effect steering and top "heaviness" of the cart.

Not easily. Best solution is different shocks. 300 lbs is a big difference in weight in the rear. I don't have a rear seat - only carry golf clubs.
