Default HD Spring vs HD Spring and Maching?

I am helping a guy redo his '97 EZGO TXT gas cart and he wants to use it by next weekend, Memorial weekend, while camping. I added a 6" spindle lift and 23" aggressive tread tires. With that being said, can he get away with just adding the HD spring to the clutch, or do you think the clutch needs machining as well?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I guess I should have posted that he wants more low end torque to make it up steep hills where he camps.
