Help with air box relocation
I am installing a Honda GX390 in my 87 Par for a little more power to get me to my deer stand. I want to relocate the air box and use the stock carb but with a K&N filter. The problem I have is the super long studs on the stock carb are going to require at least a 7/8" spacer. Anyone know where I can get a spacer this thick for the stock carb, or am I headed back to the fab lab? Thanks for any help.

Re: Help with air box relocation
You need shorter studs or spacer for on the studs? You can either buy metric bolts, or get something like 1/4" pipe and cut spacers to size.
Look at my thread here in clones about the 2nd clone I put in and check that airbox from a car. If you have the hurricane airbox with the paper filter above the carb you can put a hose on that. I used a sink drain tube wedged inside it to make it stronger, about a 1" long piece. You can buy a radiator hose and cut bends out of it you need, then use pvc pipe to get it where you want. |
