FWIW.....it would seem to me with all of that stored energy in the batteries, that some gassing from fully charged batteries would appear to be normal. All of that energy can't just "sit there." (EX: The chili example. )

My theory is that some bubbles were left on the plates due to surface tension and the movement of the cart "stirred the pot" enough to allow them to escape. Looking forward to what Trojan has to say.
