Default Horn, just the horn, please

We've got a 2010 Precendent and everything works fine... except the horn. It's the type that's built into the turn signal with the end being a push button to activate. Since the horn is required to drive on the roads here, I'd really like to get it fixed.

What would be the steps to take to diagnose this issue?

Thank you, oh Gurus of the Golfworld.

Do you have a voltage meter and have you checked the horn wires?

We do have a voltmeter, but which are the horn wires? What should the meter read?

Horn is usually mounted up under front cowl area. See if you are getting charge there. You'll at least see what wires to check back if no juice. You can pick up a new horn for about $20. Just replaced mine on my precedent.

If you can get to the horn...one wire will be power the other is ground...hook your voltmeter up to each wire and then have somebody push the button...if you get a reading on the voltmeter (12v) then the horn is bad...no reading on the wires then possible bad switch or wiring issue. Some horns work by sending a ground signal but that won't affect your testing at the horn. Let us know what you find...

I had wires worn thru and shorted inside the turn signal switch on mine.
