Default Yamaha G29 axle relocation

I’ve got a 2008 Yamaha G29 with a Jakes 6” spindle lift. I was wondering if anyone has moved the rear axle back? It looks like I can make brackets to move the entire engine cradle back. Any input would be appreciated.

I don't have the same cart as you, but I did move my axle back 8". It worked great, much more stability and better ride, and also more room in the engine compartment.

I did mine by stretching the swingarm. I cut the swingarm in half, installed a pipe inside the tubing and welded it in. It was really easy to do actually.

Moving the attaching points will also work. I haven't seen that done yet, but it sounds like a logical way to do it.

One side affect....the rear brake cables will be too short. You'll either have to extend the front cable mounting point, using some kind of rod from the pedal, or you'll need to use longer cables. On mine I just used two passenger side cables and it worked out.

I will look and see if that’s an option. Thanks

If it's gas, cutting & splicing is going to require a different belt. Which will likely require experiments with several to see what's best.

It depends where you do the cutting. If it's in front of the engine, the distance to the driven clutch remains the same.
