Default Bomb can job problem

So my son and I are doing a Precedent. We went with Duplicolor cans and Diplicolor clear. We started with red 3m pad then Duplicolor adhesion promoter my son got a little over anxious and started the base color (dark metallic grey) without primer. It was too late by the time I caught him so I layered about 6 light coats of the base color because it looked uneven. I let it set up overnight and wet sanded it with 2000 and added 2 more light coats of base then 3 coats of clear.
Luckily this was just the "hood" and I plan on using primer for the rear of the body since I suspect the paint didn't adhere evenly to the adhesion promoter.
Is there any way to fix the front?ImageUploadedByTapatalk1409594162.619865.jpg

Are you talking about the light spot in the middle of the hood?

So there was really no harm in starting the base coating without the primer. Unless you are doing bodywork and using filler the primer is really not needed. Metallics out of a spray can can be hard to do without getting splotchy. Just make sure you let each coat thoroughly dry before applying the next. If you don't the mettalics will tend to gather or what they call "modeling". You should be able to just scuff again with scotchbrite and start over minus the adhesion promoter.
