Default Re: Painting my G8 - Couple of questions

Got all four seats done today. Then, took the whole family for a ride. Wife and the dogs first ride! We got to the bottom of the driveway, and took off up the paved road for a while! If it wasn't so chilly, we'd have driven miles before we turned around! (Wife and dogs love it!) I just want to diamond plate the bottom section between the wheels and the mudflaps. I might have my wife talked into wheels and tires after today!!

Put a front windshield on, and it is warmer. Warm air comes up from the seat (front and back) and just kinda swirls around. I got a universal type vinyl windshield, it stays on with velcro straps and goes on and off in 30 seconds. Very happy with it because its off most of the time. Its only on when its rainy or cold. About $35.00

You can see it a little in this picture.

Now I wanna see the seats!! Dang it!

I'm just leery of screwing up the paint and having to start again!
I was too so I first tested it out on the floor since it was going to be covered with a rubber mat anyway. BTW, I did forget to mention I laid on about 5 coats knowing I would be color sanding it. That gave me plenty of material to work with w/o getting into the primer coats. I will say that it was way more work then I anticipated. Now I know why getting a car painted is so expensive!!
