Default Removing original decals from 99 carryall

Trying to spruce up my 99 carryall and I am having a hell of a time trying to remove all of the old decals so I can repaint the nose and polish the aluminum bed and body. I have tried everything short of dynamite to remove the old decals, especially on the aluminum. It is like they have been baked on. Has anyone else ran into this.....Any suggestions?

Have you tried an electric heat gun?

You want to heat up the decal enough just to soften the adhesive by starting on one edge and then continue to heat and pull off the decal.

You don't want to get it too hot to burn the decal or the paint

I haven't used a heat gun but I did try a blow torch ( these are on aluminum). Wasn't able to make them budge.
