Default Battery not charging - dash light blinking

2017 Club Car Precedent
Six - 8 volt U.S. Battery Deep Cycle batteries (48 volts total)
Charger: Club Car PowerDrive 3

Following an 18-hole round of golf day-before-yesterday, I plugged the charger cable into the cart but the charger did not start up. The orange low-battery light on the dash came on for about one minute, and then began blinking 2 seconds on – 2 seconds off, indefinitely.

Battery voltage prior to round - fully charged: 51.47 Volts
Battery voltage following the 18-holes: 50.29 Volts

Yesterday morning the dash light was still blinking. The charger had never come on. I then used the cart for another full 18-hole round with no issues. The cart ran at full speed and the dash light never came on during the round to indicate a low battery, even after 36 holes. I plugged the charger into the cart, and the same thing happened – charger did not start, the dash light came on solid for one minute, followed by blinking again.

Battery voltage following 36 holes: 49.32 Volts

This morning I plugged the charger into the cart and it started up normally with its one-minute diagnostics charge, followed by 10 minutes of normal charging, then back to no charging and blinking dash light illumination.

Any thoughts as to what the problem might be?

Have you checked voltage on each individual battery?

This is usually due to a problem with the $%^& OBC.

The voltage of the individual batteries range from 8.56 to 8.62 fully charged, and 8.16 to 8.28 after 36 holes.

Your battery voltages are fine. Problem is almost certainly the OBC. You can try "resetting" it. There is info somewhere here on how to do that.

If it is your OBC don't waste your money on a new one. Get a new smart charger and get rid of that 20 year or older technology.

I second that! My golfing buddies have all been doing that when their cart won't charge properly. New modern chargers are way cheaper than a new OBC and they work better too.

I'm attempting an OBC reset now. If that does not fix the problem, I'm thinking I'll buy a new Smart Charger. Does using a Smart Charger require bypassing the OBC? Can anyone recommend brand and model of Smart Charger for my 2017 Club Car Precedent with 48V pack?

Unless you gave the wrong year, CC ditched the obc starting in 2014...A 2017 doesn't have an obc and a powerdrive charger won't work with it..It should have an Eric charger or similar smart charger...Whats the serial#...
