Re: Tired of the flat black paint already
Thanks for all the help and advice. Finally got around to painting my cart. I went with a GMC metallic Gray. I learned a lot going through this process the most important being the necessity for a paint booth. I made a temp paint booth in my garage and it was not ideal at all. Had a few bugs in the clear that I had to buff out but nothing catastrophic.
Got me a nice mid-level paint gun by Anest Iwata and it was a huge step up from the purple harbor freight gun obviously.... Here’s a couple of pics. I’ll get more later of it cleaned up ... |

Re: Tired of the flat black paint already
Thanks Spriddle. I'm sure someone with an eye for paint jobs could find plenty wrong with it but it's good enough for the wife so I'm happy with it.......

Re: Tired of the flat black paint already
Looks great to me. Most of my paintwork is done outside with rattle cans which is probably the majority around here. I have a couple of sprayers for my compressor and have always wanted to rig up a temp paint booth and try them out. Garage is always too packed. I have given thought of taking an ez-up and covering the sides with plastic and trying that but not sure if that would work very well. If you happen to have pic's of your paint booth you rigged up, I'd be interested.
