Default Sticker residue in clear coat?

New to me cart. Previous owner loved the Florida Gators. He tried to remove sticker, but I think the glue residue is in clear coat. I tried goo gone, wd40, rubbing compound. Nothing works. Any suggestions?

If you really want to save the paint, [and it sure looks worth saving!] ,how about driving your cart over to your local body shop and ask them if they can remove it? Might be safer for the paint too. Just a thought.

you can try wetsanding... start with 2000 grit and a soft bodywork sanding block, one that flexes.... not a hard one....

If you want to go that route i can write up a step by step

The nose is actually very easy to remove, if you want to just take the nose to paint shops to see if they'll try. 4x T-27 screws above the glove boxes. 2 T-45 screws through the black panel just below the nose, behind the wheel. And pop the headlights out, 4 spring clips.

Wet sanding and other abrasive techniques will wear down the paint all around the sticker. Imagine trying to wet sand a penny glued to your paint. You would be left with a big circle of nothing but metal/plastic all around a nice shiny circle of clean paint. Heat gun and commercial chemical adhesive remover are safer. Trick is getting it soft enough to ball up. It might take several hours or a couple days to get it soft enough the remove.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll just take it off and drive it to a good paint shop to see what they think. If it's permanent, then I'll just get a vinyl sticker in navy or black that follows the "U" shape on top top of front cowl.

Acetone will remove most any adhesive.
If the buggie has automotive paint you can use acetone.
Test on hidden spot first to see how your paint will react.
