Default Pick the winner: ITS, Read Switch, or Key Switch

Re: '99 Series Cart

Hey guys, thanks in advance for the help. I recently purchased a cart with corroded battery cables and some unknown electrical issues. I am working on fixing her up for resale. I replaced the cables, charged the batteries back up and tested out the voltage in the pack - everything is good. However, I get no solenoid click when depressing the throttle. I only get the microswitch click. So, I started diagnosing the electrical using the previous post below.

After hooking up the jumper wire, I got a click in the solenoid and the throttle works just fine. I go through the diagnosis and everything seems to point to the ITS. Both the solenoid and the controller all test out okay. I was about to purchase an ITS, but I am hung up on the fact that it seems to work fine when the jumper is hooked up.

I had recent conversation today with a local tech that said my problem may be in the Reed Switch or Key Switch. As I understand it from the below post, I can bypass the Reed Switch.

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ch-bypass.html

This is what I plan to do tonight, and then I will move on to checking out the Key Switch afterwards (if need be). I want to get all my ducks in a row before tackling it tonight though. I would really like to figure this thing out tonight.

I appreciate any help or advice you guys can offer. This forum really has been a ton of help to me already.

Kind Regards,
Clayton

Delay, micro switch was fine. It turned out to be the reed switch. I literally took 5 minutes to bypass it. Good to go! Now, I just have to remember to pull out the pump before leaving the filling station.

Either fix the reed or put the charger cord through the steering wheel.. or maybe even put the key on top of the charger..

my 2 cents

and when you get tired of that 99, I know where an 08 RXV is for sale

Do people really drive off while plugged in?

You'd have to be drunk or stoned....
