Default TXT 36V to 48V Navitas AC w/ Lithium

After lots of lurking I have decided to jump in and build my first cart! I acquired a TXT 36V series cart (mid to late 90’s, 3 bolt steering) from my in-laws barn. It was free if I hauled it off. Hasn’t moved in almost 10 years. My plan is to rip out all of the guts and start fresh with a new wiring harness, HD solenoid, Navitas AC conversion kit, and run a lithium pack from big battery. Started ordering parts last night so I should be making some progress in the coming weeks. I plan to share my build here, and welcome any advice you’d be willing to share!

Here is the cart when I hauled it out of the barn. Wouldn’t move under its own power so the tractor had to step in and assist with the loading. 2 flat tires and no ramp on my trailer… but it’s home now and teardown has begun!

Nice find! That and the price is right! It'll be interesting to see how it performs when it's all said and done.

After tear down yesterday, looks like the frame is shot.. completely rusted through on the main frame rail near drivers left foot, as well as severe rust in other spots. Not worth saving unfortunately. So the hunt for a donor fame is on!

Have located a donor frame from a 2013 TXT, will be picking it up tomorrow! Hopefully the harness is still good, then I can return the 48V harness that I ordered!

Made some progress in the last few days! Picked up the frame. Stripped the whole thing down to bare chassis. Treated rust areas and painted.

Stole the throttle assembly off my 36V cart. The whole box. Cleaned up, and installed on the 2013 frame.

Installed brake pedal from my 36V on the 2013 frame (didn't have one when I acquired it)

Brake cables are still good, waiting on new compensator to show up.

Wheels and tires are here.

Lift shipped out today.

Navitas AC kit should show up this week.

Hopefully the Lithium pack ships this week.

Making moves!

Still needing help with photos unfortunately...
