The Battery Charger Won't Come On
I have an electric 1995 Club Car. The batteries and wires are two months old. The charger will not come on. I borrowed a charger from a similar cart, hooked it up and it will not charge on my cart. My charger will work on their cart. I went through the steps of resetting the OBC but the charger still will not come on.

Re: The Battery Charger Won't Come On
Make sure in nutral, and key off. Check the fuse on grey wire. After that sounds like OBC may be bad, what color light is in dash?

It has an orange light with an outline of a battery in the dash, but I haven't seen it on in a long time.

Re: The Battery Charger Won't Come On
The LED's burn off, but my guess is OBC is bad.

Re: The Battery Charger Won't Come On
Check fuses and do the OBC bypass charger test to confirm bad charger or obc.

Re: The Battery Charger Won't Come On
Is this a 36 or 48V cart? What is the total voltage of the pack? If they were let run too low, the charger won't come on.

Re: The Battery Charger Won't Come On
OBC bypass & Test =
The black wire coming out of charge receptacle has a yellow fuse holder, open it up and connect a jumper from the end coming out of receptacle to the negative on Battery 6 or the last one in series. Plug in the charger if it comes on your OBC is most likely TOAST. |

Re: The Battery Charger Won't Come On
I'll try that. Earlier I checked the voltage. Each battery was 8.5 volts, total battery pack was 51 volts. The 3/8 amp fuse in the charging circuit ohms out okay. Another charger that will work on their cart won't work on mine. My charger will work on theirs.

Re: The Battery Charger Won't Come On
The onboard computer is bad. This was confirmed to me by the cart mechanic, who is also the owner, at a nearby dealership.
