It can also tell you if you are overcharging or over draining?

I live in Murrieta..I think there is one close.But I am fresh to being a sparkie.I am not good at electrical and I am learning as I am going. What should a trojan t875 6 volt be showing if good or bad?Thanks again!

You have a HF in Hemet.... You can get a voltmeter at any HD, Walmart, or auto parts house. You do not need to spend alot of $$$ to get one that will work for a single cart owner. Just get a digital meter. Set it to the DC setting above what you want to test....... In your case testing 48v. I set my meter to 200VDC.....From there I can read the whole pack or individual batteries.....

I have a 2001 clubcar 8 inch lift and its 48volt electric.I a rookie at this but I live my toy! I have done alot of stereo acc.on mine but My batts are not looking good!

My spelling is crap! I am just excited about all this info you have given me!Where do you think the best place to buy cart accessories are?I need a new windshield,mine cracked at the river and I need bodywork from my speaker install!

Rule of thumb (as suggested by Trojan) is never draw the batteries down below 50% of their total capacity. Voltage wise 100% charged and SETTLED is 50.93 volts drawn down 50% is 48.41 Volts... THe decimle points are important as there is only 2.52 volts total difference.....
Individually speaking of 8 volt batteries....100% = 8.49v 50% = 8.07v
