Fuse needed??
I have been doing some upgrades (controller/solenoid) on my 01 ezgo txt and I thought I read somewhere that mentioned a fuse? Is this needed? like a in-line fuse? and where is it recommended to be located?

Re: Fuse needed??
Are you installing an Alltrax controller? If so, it should include the fuse. It goes on the main battery positive terminal.

Re: Fuse needed??
Mine is a TXT Series motor stock set up, it has a 250A inline fuse connected to the DC motor controller and another 50A fuse heading to the powerwise battery charger... Try amazon...

Re: Fuse needed??
I use an "ANN 250 FUSE". They are 'slow blow' fuses and cost 12 to 15 bucks normally.

Re: Fuse needed??
250a will cover the 400a controller as the fuse is slow blow.

Re: Fuse needed??
Alltrax recommends an ANN250 for use with 400A or smaller controllers and an ANN400 for 450A or larger.
BTW: An ANNxxx fuse is a "Very Fast Acting" fuse, but that is in fuse terms, and it can pass twice its rating for 10 seconds or so without burning open. |
