go cart transmission options
hey guys im in the process of ripping this lil red go cart apart to make room for the 13HP kohler i wanna drop in.....couple questions...first off is i think the best way to get the power to the ground is through a golf cart style clutch system....soooo my first question is will the ez go clutch i have from a 2 stroke marathon (94 ish?) fit on the 1'' diameter keyed shaft of the engine? and #2 how much will it cost me to get a n ez slow or yamaha gas rearend? i figure the cart should be just wide enough to fit the golf cart rearend and then id have reverse and more power options (gears and torque springs and such) and also id have more tire/wheel options with the 4/4 lug pattern....so can anyone help me with will the clutch i have work and if no which one will i need and how cheap can i get an ez slow or yami rearend? thanks guys....

Good luck finding one. I've been looking for one a while. If you find more than one let me know.

The best thing to do to get a golf cart rearend is just buy a used golf cart. Golf cart trans/axles run anywhere from $800 to $1000 new.

I sold one for $250 but it was electric. I bought a gas one with clutch from a guy parting out a 95 EZGO for $100. Just look for old junker carts like spriddle said thats your best bet.
