Re: camping community
I've posted this before, but for the sake of being a good sport and supporting a new thread, here goes. This is what we call "The Ponderosa". I have a few acres in the country, so the little wife and I decided to build our own campsite rather than pay 4000.00 per year to "use" someone else's. We put a 20 x 40 pad, elect, water, sewer, satellite, gravel drive, landscaping, bird feeders, deer licks, and lots of wishes for many happy memories to be made there. Here are a few pics. I'll post some more recent later.

Re: camping community
My spot is in my Avatar. That is "Caddo Peak" on ranch next door. We have a couple hundred acres. We deer and hog hunt, have a little stock tank (or as you Northerners call them ponds) to fish. Or just kick back and enjoy. When I was a teacher and foster parent we took kids out to hunt and enjoy. God let us have it and it's nice to share.
We taught a number of kids the finer art of Snipe hunting Texas style. Buford |

Re: camping community
All 3 of our kids grew up with camping. They are all seasoned campers. I have a daughter who can start a campfire in a downpour, and a son who can back a trailer anywhere you need it parked. They have seen parts of America most folks never heard of. And they are continuing as they get older and start their own lives and families. I would rather camp than take a cruise ship somewhere....
