The hog that the boy killed was a big thing on the internet a while back. If I remember it was determined to a domestic hog that had been released into the "hunting preserve". Nine shots with a revolver and chased him around for a long period of time?? Again if I remember correctly the boy and his Dad didn't know at the time about it not being a "real" wild hog. There were also doubts about the first hog they called "hogzilla".
A good domestic hog will weigh 250lbs after only 5 months. But that's in a pen with a constant comercial food supply.

Here's the best picture I've ever seen of boar cartilage shields. This is from Texas Mason Catahoulas:

She is actually lifting the hog by the bottom of the shield on each side. If you'd like to see all the pictures of this impressive boar they are at: http://www.texasboars.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11827.

Consequently I aim for the neck.

What are Jagd pups.. ???? Just spent an hour on that web site. I'm way to squeamish for hunting but that really does sound exciting chasing them.

I have a pic of a hogzilla from a trail camera. I'll look through some pics to find and post it up. Hogs do get huge but I think most of those pics were blown up.
