Re: tie rod ends
appreciate the quick reply and it's a better price than the ones on fleabay that I was looking at. That said, does one of these work on the stearing link or is it something different

Re: tie rod ends
You need two of the left hand threads and one right hand thread. A left and right for the tie rod itself, and a left hand for the steering gear

Re: tie rod ends
Can someone tell me how exactly you "check" tie rods? I look at them, and other than visualing looking to see if the exposed threads are about the same on each side, whatelse am i looking for?

Re: tie rod ends
the seals on mine are split and greese is falling out of them. if you are talking about adjustment would assume like a car count the number of turns out to remove then use same number of turns in to install

Re: tie rod ends
Any movement of the tie rod that does not follow through to the spindle it is connected to is considered "play." This is not a good thing, and it is what causes "looseness" in the front end - when you turn the wheel the tie rod and the spindle it is connected to should move as one, which will make a front end feel nice and "tight."

Re: tie rod ends
I check them when i notice slop in steering then i check by pulling up on the head. If it pulls then ends are bad. THe knuckle and bolt portion should only swivel no other movement.
