Default G16 Starts, Runs for 6-8 minutes, Stops

I have a G16 that starts like a champ. I can run it around for a couple of minutes and then I have to start nursingg the gas pedal to find the sweet spot. If I floor it, it dies. If I baby it a little it keeps going. I feel like it's going to warm up and get over the hump but, about 6-8 minutes in, it dies. It doesn't even fire. I have replaced the ignition coil but have no idea where to go next. Any thoughts?

Carry an extra spark plug, when failure takes place attach the spark plug wire to the new spark plug, ground to side of engine case, and turn motor over checking for spark. You then know if its a fuel issue or spark problem. "Old Crash trick"!

Or use a "dynamic spark tester". (Old Smallblock trick)! Really old!!

Who you callin old, I'm a spring chicken compared to you Might try this, Take the "pulsar line" off the fuel pump (it runs along and under the airbox to the crankcase), blow into it (towards the crankcase) and see if you have any restricksion. If so, the water that ethonal gas attracts, has cuagulated with the oil and partilly plugged the line and the car is starved of gas. Use compressed air to blow all that junk back into the crankcase (note: take off the oil filler cap and put a rag over it), then change the oil to "pure synthetic" oil. It doesn't seem to cuagulate with the mosture. Hope that might fix your problem.

maybe fuel problem, if there is dirt in gas line when it gets to carb, or filter each time it starves, check filter and take line of carb and bleed the line, good luck;
