Thumbs down 86 Yamaha Electric New Batteries New Cables Still won't GO!

I just put in brand new ac delco batteries and brand new cables on my old yamaha electric cart that i got from my "friend". This was supposed to be all I needed to replace. What should be the next thing I check? The selenoid?? It doesn't even make a noise or anything...
