Drive Clutch Mods
Just bought a reman 2007 drive from an authorized Yamaha dealer. Came from a golf course in Long Island. The dealer mentioned something about a turbo clutch but wouldn't tell me how it differed from a stock clutch. When the cart was delivered, I questioned the driver who also is their mechanic. I asked him about the weights and he finally admitted that they remove them so the engine revs higher before kicking in. I thought as much but am wondering if this is a normal thing to do to make the cart smoother when starting out. But no weights, no go! Parts diagrrem shows six weights, how many could they have removed without unbalancing the unit? What are the long term effects of this mod? He said that they do that mod to all of their new 2009 models too.
Thanks for any input! |
