Default 2014 48v precedent gas pedal

so I recently purchased a 2014 48v precedent that the controller got wet about 1". the cart had a 5206 white controller. I talked to a few shops and they all said to just put a 5201 gray controller in it. so after doing so cart runs and charges but the gas pedal. when you go to about 3/4 to max it kills all speeds. but up to 3/4 cart runs up to full speed no problem. but past that point it basically turns off like a bad mcor. so tested original and it seemed ok. but still ordered a brand new club car one. made in mexico. read about the china ones being bad from the start. but put the new mcor in and same exact problems. do you think the cart needs the mcor values relearned or was it bad refurbished controller or a bad new mcor?

Unfortunately those shops were all wrong.

You will need to install 453Ω x 1/2 watt resistors in each of the 3 wires right before the MCOR 3-pin connector if You want to use that Controller with the original cart harness.

The alltrax XCT controller would work in that environment a lot better and no need for the resistors.

It totally amazes me how many golf cart shops in this country don't have a clue what they're doing.

no shops around me actually heard of the new chargers actually. its sad. but I did purchase a white controller and it did solve the issue. I may on the other 3 add the resistors like you say.
thanks!

Hi Sergio:
New to this site but we also had the same problem with the gray excel we bought after we were told it would replace to old one that failed no problem. There is a 3 pin and a 2 pin connector plugged into the MCOR. Leave the 2 pin alone and install the resistors (that I bought from mouser) in each line (cut wire and solder the resistors in) in each wire of the 3 pin?

Thanks for your help

Hi Sergio:
One more question: This 2015 CC precedent has a MCOR 4 when we pulled pedal assembly out to look at it. Did this cart come with this or MCOR 2? Could that make it not work with the gray excell contoller we installed?

Thanks

Yes, that is correct.

The Gray Excell controller requires those 453Ω resistor in each of the throttle wires to provide the low and high references to the Controller.

The White ERIC controller had those resistors internally to the Controller.

Just cut the wires where it is convenient, solder the resistors in series with each wire and heat-shrink each connection (a single piece of heat-shrink should go over both solder joints and the resistor).

The dash light will not work and the buzzer will not longer "beep" when the ERIC charger is connected but it will charge the cart and Controller lockout will work as well.
