Security Features. Positive cable and key switch?
I put two security features on a friends cart and have a few other people asking me to set theres up this way. I have added two switches to the cart, one that cuts the positive power to the controller and the other interrupts the blue wire to the key switch. Both disable the power to the cart, one for quick stops and is a hidden easily accessable switch and the other is a longer term security feature.
Now, I know that the cart can still be stollen so inside storage is best but this way nobody can drive off with it. MY QUESTION IS: Does anyone see a problem with these two interuptions for the cart? Is keeping the positive power to the cart cut off when not in use going to cause any problems. I assume not since the cart sat disconnected for a long period before. But before I do this setup on other carts I want to be sure. |

I use a toggle switch in the Reed switch circuit. The cart will not run when disabled in this manner. Charging and storage are not affected, and the switch can be hidden easily.
