not getting fire to plug

Hi, we just bought a (new to us), used 1988 EZGO gas cart. We have been wanting one for quite some time and are so happy to finally get one. We are having a problem getting it started though. Per Ron, as I (Ginger) know nothing about engines, we are not getting fire to the plug but it does turn over. As near as I can tell we have 2PG 2 stroke engine. The cart is a 1988model GX444 Marathon. Also does anyone know how I could get a copy of the owner's manual and repair info? I looked in the tech section and could not find this model. We will greatly appreciate any knowledge or help as we are not familiar with golf carts, this is our 1st one. thanks
