Default Ez go powerwise 2 charger

Hello. New to this. Have a old electric ez go. The plug for charging is two slanted plugs.
My charger sparked and blew smoke today. Bought a used ez go powerwise 2 that has a plug that is female in nature and three wires red white and black.
The guy I bought it from said I could simply change the plug.
My question. If I put black on black. White on white. Wher does the red wire go?

First thought was it's not needed but it won't show that it's charging so it must go somewhere

Please help!

Makes sence. The way it came apart seemed like it was together with another wire. So just wrap the black and red together?
