Installing new batteries
When installing new batteries in a cart, how can I equalize the voltage between all the batteries when they are installed? 03 DS with power drive 2 charger
The reason I ask is because I hooked 3 of them in series to my 24 volt charger and the middle battery was reading 10v and the other 2 at 9v. These are six 8v btw Thx Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Installing new batteries
They should equal out over time and as they charge. The one may have been lower then the other two...

Re: Installing new batteries
If I was to hook all the batteries up in parallel outside of the cart, would they equalize each other???

Re: Installing new batteries
Eventually, yes, sort of. A battery with a lower voltage will draw some current from a battery with higher voltage. Usually the one with lower voltage will self-discharge faster than it will draw energy from the other batteries connected to it.
Eventually they’ll all be dead, quicker than the normal self discharge rate. But they will be equalized at that point. |

Re: Installing new batteries
I'm a little confused (as is normal) why wouldn't you just put them in the cart to begin with?

Re: Installing new batteries
It’s a rainy weekend up here and I was trying to balance them out before they go in the cart.
I charged them all with my smart charger. Then put the in parallel and let them sit all night. Today I will put them in the cart, let the charger do its thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
