Ezgo RXV goes into limp mode
Good morning
I have a 2008 Ezgo rxv that has been giving me fits for months. Good Trojan batteries that charge to 53.7v. Cart operates flawlessly on short runs. I have replaced the encoder bearing and the motor brake. When I take a two mile ride it will go into limp mode until it comes to a complete stop. I turn the key off and on it will go 100yds or so then back into limp mode and stop. Voltage at this point is still over 50v. Anyone with an idea while their morning coffee is at max voltage? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Ezgo RXV goes into limp mode
What does the voltage drop to while under load, just as cart goes into limp mode?

Re: Ezgo RXV goes into limp mode
Well, as has been frequently said here- your golf cart is the best load tester for your batteries, you already own it.

I’ll get on that as soon as I get a day nice enough to drive a couple miles.

Re: Ezgo RXV goes into limp mode
Full charge was 50.9 took off meter dropped to 30vand tapered to 45v at full speed and stayed steady for about 1 mile cart preformed until a mile and 3/4 it quit I looked and was at 47.5v tuned off key and meter recovered to 48.2 and cart went another 100yds and meter read 45.6v by then I was in the drive way and limped it to the shed went I got it inside 47.5 was the reading and since I sat down and started pecking this out the meter has recovered to 49.7 and the LED read out is 60%

Re: Ezgo RXV goes into limp mode
Bad batteries, 45v at full speed is just 1v above where controller starts slowing things down.

Re: Ezgo RXV goes into limp mode
Thanks for the help and making me think outside the box on how to rig the volt meter so I could read it on the go. That’s gonna come in handy in the future.

Re: Ezgo RXV goes into limp mode
Get this RXV Digital Analog Multi Function for your cart. This is the best way to go.
