valve seals
hi any help regarding changing the valve oil seals on a Yamaha g14a,is it very difficult please any advice please

I would not classify the job as difficult. You can compress the the spring by hand with a decent set of fingers and pliers to push down on the retainer. A third hand can be helpful but not required. You can do it on the engine with a pressurized cylinder but I prefer to remove the head.
There is one seal on the intake valve. Part #5H0-12119-00-00 |

I use the bottom end of a compression gauge kit to pressurize the cylinder and push the spring hat down with my fingers, grabbing the keepers with a pencil size magnet.
You can also put all but 4" of about two feet of small rope through the plug hole and then turn the clutch by hand to compress the rope into the valves to hold them up for the same effect. Piece of cake..... |
