Default Vanguard to big is it a waste of $$$

So I have been working on a 86 club car big block build and comes to find out the darn thing is to big and thinking I just waste a lot of $$$ ?

It’s a 23hp vanguard with a cvtech 06 clutch is there anything I can add or do to make this fit ?

You really need to get the Comet 780 clutch. it is a little smaller and should allow it to fit then

well what im thinking is since its close to the side/shock mount and wondering if i do a 6in lift if that will raise the frame enough to clear the clutch ?

If you just install the lift, you wont gain enough clearance. If you fabricated a drop mount for the front of the cradle to drop it 6", that may gain you enough clearance.

Yes I think with a 6” lift I would have to drop the cradle no matter what to make the vanguard engine level

I agree about the 780 clutch, it's much more compact. Not sure it's enough to make it fit, just saying it's worth looking into.

I’ll try a lift first and hope it works so I’m kinda stuck with the 06 clutch :( can’t dish out another $230
