Default Rear End Noise

Got some fairly loud grinding/rubbing sounds when I'm up to speed and have pedal pressed. When I let off the throttle the noise goes away completely. When I get back on the pedal it comes back. Never when going slow or up hill or any slight load type scenarios. Doesn't seem to be slowing the cart or having any real resistance while driving. 95 DS 48v. Stock drive components. Any ideas or suggestions?

Possible that the splines on your motor are worn. As far as I have read a motor centering kit will fix this. Contact David Hicks at Revolution golf cars he will know for sure and have what you need.

Just got off if the phone with David. He is leaning towards it being the motor guide ring. Ordered it while on the phone with him and it's on it's way shortly. Thanks y'all, I'll let ya know how it turns out!

It would have to be a really early regen 1 to have a guide ring.
Not sure any series cart had one, but David wouldn't sell you the wrong stuff so I'm gonna assume it's a regen cart.
If it is a guide ring motor, then it's definitely worn out.
Not terribly difficult to fix, but the old ring can be a trick to remove. A dremel with a carbide cutting tip works well.

Well I told him it was a 48v 95 club car with stock drive components and explained the noises. I'm pretty certain it's just a series motor though... maybe he was in a hurry and misunderstood me because he said he wasn't at a computer.

So you're saying a series motor doesn't even have a guide ring at all then huh?

Both series and regen motors from 1995 had guide rings.

All is well. David reassured me this is the correct part. And like I told him, if this doesn't fix it, I'll fire another barrel at it! [emoji106]
