The following parts listed are from Cart Parts Plus, they are a sponsor. The info comes straight from their website: http://www.cartpartsplus.com/

Higher Revs?

Option 1: Rev Kit $99.95
https://www.cartpartsplus.com/perfor...ard-hi-rev-kit

Kit replaces two of the weak push rods with alloy steel units. It comes with valve spring shims to stiffen up the springs, new billet spring retainers, and a timing advance key. This kit as been tested by CPP and many enthusiasts alike and is a solid option to allow your Vanguard to rev to 5500 rpm.

Option 2: Pushrods and Valve Springs $87.85

Billet Pushrods $29.95
https://www.cartpartsplus.com/perfor...illet-pushrods
Replaces all 4 pushrods with billet units that are strong and lightweight.

Performance Valve Springs $42.95
https://www.cartpartsplus.com/perfor...-valve-springs
Heavy duty valve springs made by Isky.

Vanguard Timing Key $14.95
https://www.cartpartsplus.com/perfor...ng-advance-key
Advances timing 30 degrees.

*Does not come with billet spring retainers.

*This kit would pair nicely with the Cheetah cam.

More Power?

CPP Cheetah Cam $269.95
https://www.cartpartsplus.com/perfor...rd-cheetha-cam
"Unleash the beast within your Vanguard with Precision Cams Cheetah Camshaft. Raises your peak power curve from the stock 2400-2600 to the wild 3500 -5500. This cam provides a smooth idle yet with a lope that you can tell is not stock. It will pull hard all the way to 6000 RPM. .310" Lift and .250" Duration @ .050" Note for operation above 4200 RPM a high rev kit is needed."

*Full Disclosure: I have used their rev kit, and I also have their Cheetah cam (not installed yet). I have also purchased other parts from them. CPP is fantastic to deal with and I have never had any problems whatsoever with any parts I have purchased. This information is for educational purposes and serves only as an example of what parts are available in the aftermarket.

If anyone has any info on:

Billet Connecting Rods

High Performance Pistons

I would like to see info for 479cc (30 cid) thru 627cc (38 cid) engines please.

I have seen product from ARC Racing, Performance Vtwins, Carrier Performance, but I have no experience with these parts yet. Any help from someone who has experience with them is appreciated!

460 is a different animal. I'd think 30mm would be better.

I agree with you. 30 over the 34 on the 460.

Just wanted to add that I'm using the Isky springs from CPP in my Vanguard powered G16 and they're great. Here's a pic of the Isky compared to a stocker. Big difference. Also from my experience with the rare aluminum rockers save your time and money and put it elsewhere. Yeah, they are nice but absolutely not needed unless your turning 8000 rpms continuously around an oval track like the lawn mower racers. The 2nd generation stamped steel rockers will hold up just fine for what we do with these carts.

Great writeup Slo. Lots of good info here. I'm in the middle of a CPP Vanguard 23 swap into my 08 Precedent. I had Bruce install the Cheetah cam and rev kit. Does anyone have any idea how much power the Vanny will put out with these mods?
