Re: OBC Bypassing
This appears to be a valid procedure. But if the BMS is functioning it seems a shame to destroy the wiring. You can sell a used functioning OBC on eBay, or keep it in case you ever need it.
Per the instructions in this thread it's more usual to: - Run the black wire from the charging port to the pack negative. - Unplug the OBC and either: a - cut and join the blue and white wires on the vehicle harness, or: b - some folks cut the connector off a non-functioning OBC link the blue and white wires and remove or insulate the other wires/terminals. |

Re: OBC Bypassing
Thought I would add to the sticky with a picture. It has been posted a dozen times, but A and B below are the steps:
A. Cut both black wires from OBC, splice together. B. Cut all 6 wires, splice blue and white wires together. Question I have, is what about C? This is a post where a 2g cable connects on one side to the controller, and a 2g cable on the other side connects to the battery pack negative. If you remove the OBC, just run one 2g cable from controller to pack negative? |

Re: OBC Bypassing
I Installed Extreme Team onboard charger and Lithium battery and followed their instructions for installing the onboard charger to the OEM receptacle. This leaves me with a cut black wire from the OBC that i feel needs to be connected somewhere but the instructions didn't mention it. The cart drives fine, but my 12v accessories aren't working. I think there is a negative that is not connected, but i'm not 100% sure where it should go. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Nevermind i figured it out. I found the negative end of the light kit in the bullet connector. Just needed to hook that up to negative and its working now. |

Re: OBC Bypassing
It can be confusing, but as you did here, sometimes you just have to step away and then come back to it and suddenly it will appear. Lol!
Good Job! |
