Advice on choosing 20" or 22" w/5" Lift

Hello, first time poster here just looking for some advice on choosing tires for my new 5" Jake lift on a stock G2. I am considering either 10" rim w/20" tire or 12"w22"tire. What would be my best choice? Also I would like to add diamond plate rocker panels and I am concerned with having to trim the new panel. Would I have to trim with 22" tires? Thanks for the help

22's will fit fine with a 5" lift. I would go with the 12" rim, looks a lot better in my opinion.

I would go 10 or 12 rim (up to you) with 22" tires. Because the 22 are a popular atv size and 3+ ply atv tires are much more durable, 22 has good prices, cart will go faster, more options for tread style, etc. With a 22 offroad you may have to trim the rocker a little if any, you may have to wire the inner plastic away from the tire a little, but minor issues it depends on how wide the tire is and how much tread on the sides. They are not an exact size, they all seem to differ some. I have 22x12 and had to cut about 1/2" off the rocker in back and wire the wheel well back. They are on 8" wide wheels though, 3+5 offset, that makes them wider.

22-11/10" with 4" "super cheap" lift. Front tires did rub some. And back tires would rub a little with lots of iron engine parts in the back (4 BBC iron heads + other stuff). Its setup different in the front now (jakes arms, no more rubbing), rubbing in back was never a big problem (i dont often find myself carrying lots of iron).

I've had my box full of sand and the big knobbys on mine would actually rub the white body above the rocker, but then the front end was coming up in the air too. Not something I do often and went very slow didn't want to break an axle/etc.

You guys are great thanks for a the input. I'm pretty sure that it's going be 22 I go with after all the reading. Now it's time to place an order . I will post a picture after the install!

Yeah I think the most important things are an offset rim to make it stable, atv rated tire is much more durable, 22 is more popular though you can get some 20s that are ok....but 22s are more choice and more gearing for not much difference in price. Beyond that I say think about the rims you get, you might be looking at them a long time if you keep the cart so a couple extra bucks for nicer ones can be a good deal and make the cart worth more anyway. Likely 10" rim and 22s may be the cheapest 22 setup but you never know what you can find. The desert tires are better wear on roads and not as good in mud, the mud tires will work better offroad as the cart needs as much traction as it can get but they can tear up yards so depends on your use.

I lifted mine a long time ago myself, the floor is 18" high. I lifted just enough to clear 22s with a little load in the box and two people. I wanted it to be stable we ride wooded trails sometimes and it corners nice this way with 3+5 offset wheels. Stock is 3.5/3.5 offset.

Get the 12" rim. Your tire options now and down the road is much broader, especially since most ATV tires are 12". Wish I had made that choice. You are very limited with the 10's.

Yep, I say go as big as possible. I went with 22's on 10" rims. Then once I got my lift built found I wish I had gone bigger.

I didn't know anything about what I was doing when I built my lift so it ended up lots taller than I meant it too. I actually ended up with about 11" to 12" lift. Floorboard on mine is 21" from the ground.

But the offset makes a big difference too as higher you go, the wider you'll want it. I built an extra 4" width into my carts front lift and then went with 3+5 on the offset too.
