Default 2017 RXV Fleet Voltage Reducer questions

Hello,

I was looking to install a reducer and fuse block into my 2017 RXV today, but seen so many different ways of doing it. Frying a controller is something i would like to avoid.

I would like to have it turn on with the key, so i know i need to have it tied to the solenoid instead of the actual key. I've seen some people get away with no relay and some say they have to have a relay. Could anyone give me a quick run down on the best way to wire these?

This is what I have so far. Not including almost any wire, electrical butt ends I could need.

"10L0L Golf Cart Voltage Reducer Voltage Converter 30 Amp"
"WUPP 12 Volt Fuse Block with Negative Bus Bar"

Thanks in advance.

The better reducers have a trigger wire that you hook to the key switch - no relay needed. The power leads are wired directly (through an inline fuse) to the battey pos and neg. The trigger lead goes to the switched voltage that comes from the key switch.

My 30amp reducer has no trigger wire, it's connected to main pos/neg and the 12v output is running via a cheap 24v car relay, switched by the keyswitch. It was my way and works absolutely fine since 3 years ( it's a Danaher cart and less sensitive ). Instead of the keyswitch it's recommended to connect to the solenoid.

KIMG0680.jpgI used the ezgo converter, B+, B-, and yellow to the solenoid so it works with the key switch.

I ended up just going out testing everything. Which led to me just giving it a shot via the information i found searching here. Got everything hooked up and working now.

Thanks!

(now to hookup under glow / party bar speaker before we go camping again.)
