87 marathon, our first build
This is our first cart build. Wanted a 4 seater, gas cart to use when camping. Picked up this 87 Marathon the day after Christmas. 2 months later she back together. Still not running as strong as I believe she should, still trying to figure that out. Only other part left to do is figure out a way to drop roof so it will fit in our toyhauler.
Items either fixed or replaced as follows: rebuilt motor top end, new carb and fuel pump, removed oil injection, replaced motor mounts, upgraded shocks and springs to eliminate lift kit spacers, LED headlights and taillights, new upholstery, 22” tires on 10” wheels, painted most of cart (body and seat frames/top frames), replaced a great deal of all the nuts and bolts as most were terribly rusty. There might be more, can’t remember. |

How to drop the roof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvsbiwAgTJo
You can buy these in a ready made kit also but quite pricey for what they are IMO. |
