I have been working on the body plastics from home. Airless plastic welder is slow but reinforcing the backside with metal screening seems to be making a very sturdy joint. Thanks to advice from The New Guy, I'm using skinny strips of the spare body as the filler rod.

I have all the extension joints welded up on the lower front body panel. I have the quartered upper sections bolted to the lower and have the filler sections all mapped out.

This didn't work as I imagined, but I have the upper body all fit up and screwed down to be welded together! I've gone through on old Dremel and not to sure if the new one will last till the end of this...

I had a few hours to work on mocking up the framework that will hold the front end to the frame. I am pretty happy with the bends I put in the 3/4 square tube that matches the curve of the front end and aligns with all the holes in the body that I plan to use to bolt the body panels to the new frame work. A little torch work and some solid pivot points did the trick!

Here are some pictures of the front body frame work all welded up. and a few pictures of the front end sitting in place. I have already gone through 4 cartridges of 3m 5887 plastic repair to get the upper part fairly smooth. By the time I'm done with all the plastic work I will have probably $350 in just the 5887. The stuff is a little over 50 bucks a cartridge but it works really well.

Sometimes rainy days can be great! I was supposed to mow mine and a neighbors yard Friday but got rained out. Saturday morning also got washed out so that gave me an excellent excuse to work at the shop.

I have envisioned a speedster style windshield for this cart like you can get for some of the newer carts. I spent some time trying to figure out how to match the angle of the seat back posts and think I bent the two main supports fairly close. I actually just got lucky in the fact that the 12" height also is pretty close to matching the height of the seat backs posts as well.
