Powerwise Charger and Storage
I'm more just curious about this than I am in the need to store my cart because I live in south Georgia, we just don't have to put our carts up for the winter !
Could you plug your charger into one of those timers like you use with your Christmas lights and set it to come on once a week to keep your batteries charged during storage ? Would this even make a Powerwise type charger kick on ? Like I said above, I'm just curious. |

Re: Powerwise Charger and Storage
I wonder why they'd only set it for a couple of hours instead of 8 or 9, the charger would shut off automatically when they are fully charged.
Why not fully charge them if everything is in line to do it, but then again with no use I guess 2 hours might keep them fully charged. |

Re: Powerwise Charger and Storage
I have a customer that does that but he uses a regular hard wired timer,Idont think the other timer is heavy enough. It must work good have not seen him in about 2 yrs.

Re: Powerwise Charger and Storage
a lester 25890, also 25930 will maintain a battery charge by automatically turning on once a week or so, just leave them plugged in. a lester 09695 needs a ac timer to turn on, a few others will maintain auto. [dpi]. most chargers will not turn on with a ac timer, you must physically unplug and plug back in the dc [cart] before the charger will turn on. I think perhaps some of the older chargers with manual timers might work with a ac timer. kirk

Re: Powerwise Charger and Storage
I dont think its a good idea to leave a charger plugged in all the time,I have seen cars that chargers were left plugged in and they ruined new batteries because the charger did not shut off.I also seen electrical surges burn them up also, like a lightning strike.
