Charger Voltage
On the newer charger system on a club car precedent (2015), what is the upper range of voltage when charging?

Re: Charger Voltage
The charger I am now using that came with this cart is maxing out at 62.5 v and leaves the batteries at 52.5, which, to me, is normal. Seems a little high on the charging side...they are T-160's and I sure don't want to boil them to death...batteries are new, which might explain the higher charge rate, but this is the second charge in that voltage range.

Re: Charger Voltage
The charger model you have has the profile pre-configured, either W1 (6 amps finish rate), W4 (8 amps finish rate) or W6 (11 amps finish rate).
You can find the pre-configured profile at the end of your charger part number on the label. The resting voltage (after 12 hours since the charger finished) published by Trojan if for 80F, the terminal voltage will be higher at higher electrolyte temperatures. I would not be concerned as longs as the batteries are all close to the same voltage when the pack is at the 62.5v reading. |

Re: Charger Voltage
With the ERIC charger if you change batteries its a good idea to update the charge profile with one that's designed for the batteries. New profiles can be downloaded for free from Delta-Q. If they don't have the right profile for your batteries listed on their website contact their support and they can send you the correct one.
The ERIC chargers maximum voltage output is 72V, but like Sergio mentioned, the amperage at the end of the charge is the more important part. |

Re: Charger Voltage
I think they run a little higher now Sergio. I have one on my nephews and we were shocked how high it gets at the end of the profile, but as we all know, the amperage was low. His does get around 71 VDC. I think that is how they get the efficiency up to or a little over 91% now.

Re: Charger Voltage
At 71v I'll bet you can smell the acid bubbling.....

Re: Charger Voltage
Actually not too much. The current flow (amperage) is so very low at that point.
