Default EZGO RXV Speed Increase

Hello, this weekend I purchased an EZGO RXV from an individual. The cart will go 14 MPH. I read where this model can go up to 19.5. My question is how do you increase the speed? Does a repair shop have to do this? Can I do it myself. Does it cost anything? I’m new to this and would appreciate any inputs. Thanks

My RXV went about 14 mph then I took it to a local golf cart shop and they put a freedom RXV program on it and gave it about 2 mph more. I then had Bob Bryce one of the guys in this forum program mine to go 24mph which he could've mad faster but with kids riding I stopped at 24 mph until I put larger wheels on it and now it goes about 27 mph.

That’s pretty fast. Did he have to change the speed controller or motor to get to 24 MPH? What was the cost for that? 24 MPH is about where I would like to be. Thanks

He didn't change any parts he just programmed it with a program using his computer. He may or may not charge anything. Controller can be shipped and he will at least want shipping covered.

That’s understandable. I saw where some people say to change the solenoid and I saw another saying to change the battery cables. Are these necessary? Thanks

I haven't done any of these. Been looking at changing cables but since I have converted to six batteries I have to get custom cable set.
