New Project-1992 Gas Ez Go
Just bought an Ez go 1992 Gas ,4 cycle,NO Engine,I am looking for some parts,I have the forward/reverse lever, but do not have the lever part(part that cables fit on) or the cables,or the lever part that is on the rear end,I can find the cables, but are having trouble finding these levers, any help will be appreciated! If you have any and would be able to ship to me,that would be great,I live in Eastern NC,27864,I would consider buying complete junker, local only.I have plans on installing go kart engine, will 5.5 or 6 hp be enough, what type clutch?
Thanks |

Re: New Project-1992 Gas Ez Go
A go kart engine aint gonna cut it. The stock engine is only a 9 hp and it's not a powerhouse. I would stick with a factory engine simply b/c of how much work and fabbing you'll have to do to install a 5 or 6 hp motor and the fact that you will not be satisfied with the final product. Many people go with a BB b/c the factory engine does not have enough juice, so I doubt you will be happy with anything less than the stock engine. Let's face it, your dealin with 9 ponnies. If you go with a 5 or 6 horse engine, you almost cut the factory engine specs in half and you'll probably only be able to move on flat ground. Any climbing will be out of the question. Just my 2 pennies!!

do some poking around in the "Big Block" forums, there's a 16hp Honda Clone that is sold by Harbor Freight that a lot of people have used (as well as a ton of info on clutch compatibility, etc for that motor)

Re: New Project-1992 Gas Ez Go
i just finished putting a Duromax 16hp in my '97. I drove it around today pulling my neighbors golf cart on a trailer. Plenty of power. 22's for tires. 5" lift. Love it! The Harbor freight engines haven't got the best rep. Plenty of guys have used the Duromax found here. http://www.maxtool.com/index/DuroMax...es/pm16hpe.asp
