My batteries have died and want to change over to lithium or lithium ion which is the correct battery???? thank you

Lithium Iron phosphate aka Lifepo4 is the Lithium battery you want to use. For the best results select a big single battery with a maximum discharge rate of 200-300 amps, depending upon your cart's modifications and use.

No simple answer. You did not even say what cart you have, how it's modified, how you use it. All of those things affect your battery choice.

Yes thank you I have 2001 36volt normal neighborhood use but definitely want single battery

Not 300AH battery you want maybe 100AH battery that can handle 300 amps peak maybe 200 amps continuous. You might want to consider upgrading to a 48Volt system. I like ECO battery for a solid reliable lithium conversion.
